Olympus E-510

With an image stabilizer attached inside the camera body, Olympus definitely break the tradition of DSLR camera, while other brands attach the Image Stabilizer (IS - Canon) or Vibration Reduction (VR - Nikon) in the lenses. The Olympus’ built in image stabilizer will reduce cost of lenses manufacturing, because it will not need an image stabilizer once attached on an Olympus E-510.

The Olympus E-510 features a ten megapixels mos sensor and will compete with Nikon D200 and D80, and Canon 400D that also are ten megapixels DSLR camera. It’s a kind of late launching, for ten megapixels camera, but I suppose the late launching is because Olympus want to give something different to users, such as I wrote above.

But there’s more fetures offered by E-510. Just like the predecessor E-330 that was launched a year ago, Olympus E-510 also ease the photographers by offering an interesting capability ‘live view’ thru the LCD. This is the first time ever for a DSLR, not only it eases the compose process for a difficult angle, it also a good feature that I suspect will be followed by other camera brand, such as Nikon and Canon.

Also a white balance by viewing, that provide user interactivity to choose the most fit white balance thru the LCD, is a feature that not yet offered by other camera brand.
